Financial & Insurance Questions

What insurance do you take?

We accept most major medical insurances, including:

– Anthem
– Aetna
– Cigna
– Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare
– Human
– Medicare
– United Healthcare

If you do not see your insurance listed here, please reach out.

You take my insurance, so how much will I be paying out of pocket?

When you start you with Local Infusion, your Infusion Guide will review your coverage and let you know (within 24 hours of insurance verification) what your expected out-of-pocket costs will be. We will also explore any and all ways to reduce your costs through copay assistance and financial assistance programs.

Your financial responsibility is dependent upon your specific insurance plan benefits. You might owe:
– a copay (a fixed amount of money that you pay for a healthcare service)
– a coinsurance (a percentage of the total cost of a healthcare service)
– a deductible (an amount of money you must pay before your health insurance plan starts to share costs)
– OR a combination of these options

Generally, if you have commercial insurance, you would owe only your copay (typically less than $50). If you have Medicare with supplement, you will owe your copay (typically less than $50). If you have Medicare Advantage, it will depend on your deductible.

If you have met your deductible, you may only be responsible for a copay or coinsurance, usually less than $50.

What if you do not take my insurance?

If we are not in network with your insurance plan, we may still be able to bill your insurance carrier out of network. If you do not have out-of-network benefits available, we are also able to see you as a self-pay patient. Feel free to contact our team if you would like more details.

What if I don’t have insurance?

If you are currently uninsured, we would be happy to see you as a self-pay patient. For more information on our self-pay rates check here or please call our team with other questions.

What is copay assistance?

A copay assistance card (also known as a copay savings program, copay coupon, or simply a copay card) is essentially a coupon that makes a medication way less expensive for you. You simply sign up for the program (and Local Infusion can also help you out here!) — usually via a form on your drug manufacturer’s website or an independent copay card website — download or get your card in the mail, and show it at the pharmacy when you go to fill your prescription.

Instead of paying a high copay (perhaps $50, $75, or more, depending on the specifics of your insurance coverage), you pay a lot less. In some cases, you might not owe anything at all. The pharmaceutical company covers the difference.

Who is eligible for copay assistance?

Program restrictions vary, but generally anyone who has private health insurance (not Medicare or Medicaid) is eligible to enroll in a copay assistance program. You don’t typically have to prove that paying your regular copay for the medication would present a financial hardship.

What if my insurance changes?

Contact your Infusion Guide to let them know when you expect a change in insurance coverage with your new insurance information and send photos of the front and back of your new insurance card. We will let you know if it impacts your out of pocket costs for your treatment with Local Infusion.

What else should I know about my using insurance at Local Infusion?

If you would like to know more information about your benefits prior to scheduling, we recommend reaching out to your Local Infusion center from your insurance plan.
